Incoming ISBA President John G. Locallo
Chicago property tax attorney John G. Locallo will be sworn-in as the 135th ISBA President on Friday night at the Annual Meeting in Lake Geneva, Wis. Locallo is a partner in the firm of Amari & Locallo. As a tax lawyer, Locallo enjoys saving clients money and will focus his year on helping ISBA members with technology. "We're at a critical juncture in the law as more business is flowing to online legal services," Locallo said. "It is a must that lawyers provide the most cost-efficient services to their clients." He received his B.S. in Accounting from the University of Illinois and passed the CPA exam in 1983. He graduated from Chicago-Kent School of Law in 1986 and received his Masters of Law (Taxation) in 1992. Locallo has been a member of the ISBA Board of Governors since 2004 and is a Vice Chair of the Illinois Bar Foundation Fellows. He served as president of the Justinian Society from 2000-2001. He and his band, 5-thirty, performed at the Illinois Bar Foundation's Lawyers Rock Legends fundraiser in February. Follow Locallo's year via his LinkedIn and his Twitter accounts. The Annual Meeting kicks off with the opening reception Thursday night and will conclude with a meeting of the ISBA Assembly on Saturday morning. The Assembly is made up of 201-lawyer members elected on a pro rata basis from the judicial circuits and is the supreme policy making body of the Association.
