ISBA Intellectual Property Law Section to host "Become a Professional Writer: Industry Tips & Tricks"

The ISBA Intellectual Property Law Section will host "Become a Professional Writer: Industry Tips & Tricks," a networking event on April 23, 2014 at the ISBA Chicago Office, 20 S. Clark, Ste. 900. The event begins with registration and sign in from noon-12:15 and luncheon and panel from 12:15-1:15 p.m. Cost is $10 for ISBA members/$20 for non-members. Panelists:

Danielle Egan-Miller is president and owner of Browne & Miller Literary Associates, Chicago's longstanding premier independent literary agency. With more than 15 years of experience as an editor and agent, she has participated in all aspects of agency business including selling fiction and non-fiction projects, translation, audio and film/television rights.

Robert J. Labate has more than 20 years of experience as an entertainment attorney in the Chicago Office of Holland & Knight, in addition to a being a corporate restructuring and bankruptcy attorney and an adjunct faculty member at DePaul University School of Law. His entertainment practice is best known for film production, but includes television, digital media, content acquisition, celebrity branding and licensing, financing, book publishing and music.

Erin Nevius is an associate director of book publishing for the American Bar Association, acquiring and editing 20 to 30 titles a year. She has over ten years of consumer book publishing experience, having previously edited for F+W Media and Sourcebooks, Inc.
