Entertainment Law Firm Leavens, Strand & Glover Adds Celebrated Lawyer Linda Mensch to Chicago Office

Linda S. MenschEntertainment law firm Leavens, Strand & Glover is pleased to announce that Linda S. Mensch has joined its Chicago office as Of Counsel. 

Mensch’s entertainment and intellectual property practice includes transactions and brand protection for television broadcasters, record and commercial music producers as well as technology companies serving the entertainment industry. She represents high-profile artists and recently produced – as well as provided legal representation – for the film Maya Angelou: And I Still Rise, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January. She joins from Bryan Cave.

Mensch joining comes on the heels of the firm’s significant growth over the past year. In early 2015 the firm opened its its Nashville office and tapped music industry heavyweight Hillel Frankel to join as partner and lead the office.

Mensch has been involved advancing the interests of the entertainment industry for many years. For more than three decades she served in various leadership roles with the Chicago Chapter of the National Association for Recording Arts & Sciences. She is past president of the Lawyers for the Creative Arts, as well as a recipient of the organization’s Thomas R. Leavens Award for contributions to law and the arts in Chicago.

Mensch is regularly honored by the entertainment industry for her work. She was nominated for a 2014 - 2015 Emmy by the Chicago/Midwest Chapter National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences for her role as host of the television and web series “Beyond the Loop-Bridgeport/Chinatown.” In 2012 she received THE HEARTLAND EMMY Award for her associate producer role in the documentary, “The Wayman Tisdale Story.” In 2009 she was awarded a Chicago-based Emmy for her roles as associate producer of the documentary “The Bob Love Story.” 

Mensch received her J.D. from New York University School of Law and her B.A. from Kirkland College (Hamilton College) in Clinton, New York.
