Robert (Bob) Richard Kenski, 89 of New Carlisle, Indiana, passed away peacefully with family at his side on Monday Oct. 2, 2017. Born in St. Louis on Nov.18,1927, and married on Nov. 21, 1952 to the late June Carol Poertner. He proudly served in the U.S Army in 1946-1947 in Tokyo Japan. He graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a J.D. in 1952. He worked for 30 years for Ryerson Steel as a credit manager and later assistant general counsel. He joined Rockwell International in 1972 as associate general counsel until 1986. He served as a board member and president of School District 68 in Woodridge from 1968 through 1972. He also served as a board member of the Dupage County Council Girls Scouts of America from 1969 through 1972. A consummate bridge player, lover of fine food, and traveling. He was also an avid photographer and loved books. Innately curious he took up weaving in retirement until his vision failed. But above all else he loved his wife and family and took great joy in their accomplishments.

Helmut Strauss, 94, devoted husband of the late Irma; loving father of Jonathan (Leslie) and Jeremy (Mary Ann) Strauss; cherished grandfather of Benjamin (Samantha) and Rebecca Strauss; dear brother of Margot (the late Herbert) Garon and other extended family. Mr. Strauss was born and raised in Germany and emigrated to the United States with his family in 1937. He was a CPA and a tax attorney for over 40 years. He was a long time member and former president of KAM-ISAIAH ISRAEL Synagogue in Hyde Park.

George E. Bullwinkel passed away on October 16 of colon cancer a month short of his 81st birthday. Born in Chicago, George grew up in Mount Prospect, IL, earned a BME from Cornell University (1959) and then worked a short term as an engineer for Rocketdyne in California prior to pursuing a law degree from Harvard (1964).
After graduating Harvard, George moved back to Chicago and then Hinsdale to raise a family with his wife, Madelaine. For over 50 years, George specialized in patents and intellectual property, practicing at several Chicago firms, before forming his own firm, Bullwinkel Partners, Ltd.
George will be remembered for the many ways he used his technical and legal expertise to empower his peers and clients. After building a Heathkit computer with his son in 1981, he introduced the use of computers in two successive law firms and later taught computing to attorneys at IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law.
A private pilot for over 50 years and an active supporter of Friends of Meigs Field, he advocated for pilots' rights as part of the AOPA legal support team.

Personal injury attorney Peter Ferracuti died at age 91. Ferracuti was a Navy veteran of World War II. Then he became a lawyer, working for the LaSalle County State’s Attorney’s Office in the 1950s.
In private practice, he became well known for working long after the office closed. He won some multi-million dollar verdicts for his clients.
Ferracuti’s daughter Alexis took over his Ottawa practice a few years ago.

Dwight Taylor, 85, of Collinsville, Illinois, born Feb. 11, 1932, in Carrollton, Illinois, passed away Thursday, Oct. 26, 2017 at St. Louis University Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri.
Dwight grew up in Shipman, Illinois, and graduated from Southwest High School. He attended Washington University, St. Louis, where he earned his J.D. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Taylor was employed for many years as an attorney at the Collinsville Building and Loan, and he also served as the Collinsville city attorney for over thirty years. He was instrumental in city development, including the Eastport Plaza and the Gateway Conference Center. He enjoyed golfing, loved his dogs, and took great pride in his yard, twice earning him "Yard of the Month" title.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carroll "Casey" and Irene, nee Travers, Taylor; his son Dennis, and his sister Dottye.

Edwin Frederick "Fritz" Goebig II passed away in the company of family at home in Springfield after a long battle with cancer on Sunday, October 8, 2017.
He was born in the Detroit area suburbs on Easter Sunday, April 4, 1953. He was the only child of Victor Herbert Goebig and Evelyn Berneice Swartz. Mr. Goebig was a dedicated public servant, serving as an attorney for his entire professional career at the Legislative Reference Bureau with the Illinois General Assembly, eventually retiring as its deputy director and returning in the capacity of a senior counsel thereafter on a contractual basis. He was also one of the founding members of the Government Bar Association.

Lewis D. Murphy, 88, of Monmouth, died Monday, Oct. 9, 2017, at his home. He was born July 2, 1929, in Monmouth, the son of former Illinois Supreme Court Justice Loren E. and Besse Ditto Murphy.
He attended Monmouth public schools graduating from high school in 1947. He attended Monmouth College for three years and graduated from Bradley University in Peoria in 1951. He served in the United States Air Force from 1951 until 1955, achieving the rank of staff sergeant. He attended and graduated from Georgetown University Law School, Washington, D.C., in 1958. He commenced practicing law in the firm of Lauder and Murphy with Fredrick Lauder. During those years he was an assistant attorney general for Warren and Mercer Counties for the State of Illinois. He spent over 10 years as the government appeal agent for the local draft board. He spent many years as a member of the Warren County Library Board, a former member of the Elks Club, Illinois State Bar Association, the Henderson and Warren County Bar Associations and a lifetime member of the American Legion.
In 1969 he was appointed as associate judge for the Ninth Judicial Circuit from which he retired in 1987. He was a member of the Illinois Judge's Association.

Daniel (Dan) Joseph Rice, age 67, of Berwyn (formally of Forest Park and Oak Park) passed away on September 26, 2017. Dan was born at St. Anne Hospital in Chicago to parents Edward Francis Rice and Elizabeth Ann Conerty. Brother to siblings (late) Ed, Betty Ann, Eileen, John, Joan, Julie, Marilyn, and Tim. Dan is survived by his loving fiancé, Tamara (Tam) Trutwin; daughters Meagan and Bridget of second wife (late) Moira; and children Jennifer, Carrie, Matt and Kevin of first wife Madonna. Dan was a graduate of St. Ignatius College Prep, Loyola University and John Marshall Law School. Dan was a dedicated and hard-working attorney his entire career. He was sole-practitioner of his own law practice in both Oak Park and Forest Park for over 40 years where he ran a highly successful general practice. Memorial gathering private.

Harold L. Turner Jr., was born and raised in Moline, Illinois. Hal earned his law degree from University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana, and served as assistant state's attorney until he was drafted by the Army in 1967. Following his service in the Vietnam War, Hal established a law firm in Rockford, Illinois, where he practiced law for 40 years. After his retirement, he and his wife, Susan Turner moved to Denver, Colorado. Hal is survived by Susan, his wife of 49 years; his sons and daughters-in-law, Matt and Lori Turner and Ben and Lyric Turner; granddaughters, Lilia, Grace, and Ellery; twin sister, LuAnn Christiansen and sister, Mary Beth Turner; mother-in-law, Helen Milligan; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Michael and Theresa Milligan and Patrick and Connie Milligan; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Dennis Rose, born in East St. Louis, Illinois April 24, 1947, passed away September 17, 2017 at the age of 70 in St. Louis, Missouri. Mr. Rose's parents, William Edward Rose and Bertha Beatrice Rose (nee Oliver), preceded him in death. He is survived by the god children he adored, Annamarie Bindenagel Sehovic and Carl Bindenagel, their parents James D. and Jeanne Bindenagel, and by his many friends around the world too numerous to list. Mr. Rose attended the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in the teaching of social studies in 1969 and with a juris doctorate degree in 1972. Mr. Rose was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 1972 and the Missouri Bar in 1978. In addition, he was admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of Illinois, the Eastern District of Missouri, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, and the Illinois Supreme Court. He began the practice of law in 1973 retiring in 2007 as a Partner in the Belleville, Illinois firm bearing his name - Donovan Rose Nester & Joley PC. Mr. Rose was a member and Chairman of the Missouri Ethics Commission having been appointed by then Missouri State Governor Jay Nixon.
