Nathan Hinch is pleased to announce that he has opened an office in Wheaton. Hinch Law will focus on construction, real estate, business and environmental law. Mr. Hinch was previously with the engineering firm Sheaffer International in Glen Ellyn and served as Operations Manager/In-house Counsel. Mr. Hinch is a 2007 graduate of IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law, and a member of the Illinois Bar. Mark Mathewson, ISBA Director of Publications, received the 2009 National Association of Bar Executives Peer Excellence Award on Thursday at the association's Annual Meeting. This award recognizes those members who have made a significant contribution to NABE. Mathewson, also the editor of the Illinois Bar Journal and a frequent contributor to Illinois Lawyer Now, was described as "a principled bar executive" who is "knowledgeable and well-respected." Mathewson recently received his Certified Association Executive designation, the highest professional credential in the association world.
Whew. Lawyers scrambling to create identify-theft policies to comply with the August 1 implementation deadline for the FTC's "Red Flags Rule" can breathe a little easier. It's been pushed back to November 1. The ABA Journal and the Blog of Legal Times have more.

ISBA member Gary True has joined Summers Compton Wells PC as a principal. Gary practices primarily in the areas of corporate and business law, estate planning, and tax law. He received his J.D., summa cum laude, from St. Louis University School of Law and his LL.M. in Taxation from Washington University School of Law. Summers Compton Wells PC has offices in Glen Carbon and Ladue, Mo. Gary is admitted to practice in the United States Supreme Court, the United States Tax Court, the United States Courts of Appeals for the Seventh and Eighth Circuits, the United States District Courts for the Southern District of Illinois and the Eastern District of Missouri, and all Illinois and Missouri state courts. Prior to joining Summers Compton Wells PC, Gary was a partner with Hepler Broom, formerly known as Hepler, Broom, MacDonald, Hebrank, True & Noce, LLC, where he worked for nearly 17 years.
