Dinsmore & Shohl continues to grow in Chicago by welcoming Thomas J. Hayes to the office. Hayes will practice out the Litigation Department.
Hayes joins Dinsmore from Thomson Coburn LLP where he focused on commercial litigation involving construction and real estate disputes, actions arising from the sale of goods, defamation suits and financial services litigation. In addition, he advises clients on how best to protect trade secrets, negotiate and enforce restrictive covenants and conduct internal investigations.
Hayes earned his J.D. from Michigan State University College of Law and also received his Bachelor’s of Science in Finance from Michigan State University.
In the year since Dinsmore gained the Chicago office through the Peck, Shaffer & Williams merger, it has experienced rapid growth adding 13 attorneys to that location and enhanced the services offered. Chicago moved from being Dinsmore’s smallest location to the 9th largest office in the firm. Earlier this month, Labor and Employment Partner Sara A. Weinberg joined the firm.

Associate Attorney Bradley Kaye received his Juris Doctorate from DePaul University Law School in 2014. During law school, Kaye served as the President of the Appellate Moot Court Society and won the Honorable William J. Bauer Moot Court Competition. He was also awarded the Benjamin Hooks Distinguished Public Service Award for volunteering his time at the Cook County Domestic Violence Courthouse and Cabrini Green Legal Aid. Former Chief judge Ann Callis today announced she will be joining the Goldenberg, Heller, Antognoli and Rowland law firm in Edwardsville.
Callis brings over 20 years of experience to the firm with her start in the community in 1990 when she served as an Assistant State’s Attorney in both Madison and St. Clair Counties. Callis was elected Circuit Judge in 2000, and became the first female Circuit Judge and the first female Chief Judge in Madison County. In 2009, Callis created the first Veterans’ Court in Illinois, which sought to reintegrate veterans into society. Years later, the Madison County Veterans' Treatment Court has become a model for similar programs around the nation.
With deep ties to the community and a commitment to the future of Madison County, Callis will concentrate on the firm’s Commercial Law Division to further develop business growth in the area.
