Rep. Louis I. Lang, Deputy Majority House Leader, has joined Querrey & Harrow and its municipal liability practice group as Of Counsel. Rep. Lang also handles commercial litigation and planning and development issues for public entities. Rep. Lang has served the 16th House District of Illinois (including Skokie, Lincolnwood, Morton Grove, a part of the 49th and most of the 50th Wards in Chicago) and the Illinois Legislature for more than 20 years. Rep. Lang obtained his B.A. in Political Science at the University of Illinois and his law degree from DePaul University. "We are honored to have Rep. Bruce R. Johnson, a member of the Illinois bar since 1967 and most recently of Johnson & McCaa LLC, in Portland, Maine, has started a new firm, Johnson & Associates, in Dover, New Hampshire. Johnson & Associates will open its doors for business on January 4, 2010. The practice will focus on estate and business succession planning and will continue to serve Mr. Johnson's Illinois, Maine and New Hampshire clients.

Chicago law firm Grady Pilgrim Christakis Bell LLP announced today that attorney Stephen Bell, one of the founding partners of the Chicago law firm Goldberg Kohn Bell Black Rosenbloom & Moritz, Ltd., has joined Grady Pilgrim as a partner. Bell chaired Goldberg Kohn's Real Estate Group from 1996 to 2007, and served on its Management Committee for many years until his recent resignation.  Grady Pilgrim is a Chicago-based law firm founded in October 2008 by four former partners of the Chicago law firm Arnstein & Lehr LLP. Bell received his law degree, cum laude, from Harvard University in 1969 and his A.B.

Mr. Pfanenstiel will concentrate his practice on complex family law matters including finance, property division and custody. Mr. Pfanenstiel received his J.D. from DePaul University College of Law. While studying at DePaul he received a Certificate in Taxation and the Cali Award for Excellence in Family Law Legal Drafting.  He began his career at Schiller DuCanto & Fleck as a law clerk in 2007. Mr. Whitfield was a member of the 2000 U.S. Olympic soccer team and received his J.D. from DePaul University College of Law, where he earned a Certificate in Family Law. His practice concentrates on complex family law matters including finance, child custody and paternity. Mr. Whitfield joined Schiller DuCanto & Fleck as a law clerk in 2008.
Baker Hostetler has announced that it has opened a Chicago office as part of its national growth strategy. Frost practices in the areas of estate/trust administration, residential and commercial real estate purchases and sales, business organizations, governmental law, and wills and trusts. Attorney Frost has served and represents clients in the Illinois Valley area. Frost earned his law degree from the University of Illinois College of Law, with high honors in Legal Research and Writing. He received his Associate of Arts degree, summa cum laude, from Illinois Valley Community College and his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. In response to the continued growth of its trademark practice, Brooks Kushman law firm announced today that it has hired Emily S. Adelman as an associate attorney. Most recently, Adelman served as an associate attorney at Cook Alex Ltd. of Chicago, where she focused on U.S. and international patent and trademark prosecution matters, litigation, and patent validity and infringement analyses, as well as collaborated on various papers and presentations relating to developing patent and trademark law. Adelman earned a juris doctor degree and a Master of Laws in IP Law from The John Marshall Law School in Chicago and a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Additionally, she participated in the Pierce Law IP Summer Institute in Beijing, studying comparative IP law, and has taken courses at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia.
