2 finalists named for DuPage associate judge vacancy

Chief Circuit Judge Kathryn E. Creswell is pleased to announce that following a January 21, 2015 meeting of the Circuit Judges of the 18th Circuit Court, two finalists for the Office of Associate Judge have been selected and certified to the Illinois Supreme Court. The finalists are seeking to fill the vacancy created by the elevation of Liam C. Brennan to Circuit Judge. From these names, the Circuit Judges will select one appointee by secret ballot.

Joseph T. Bugos, J.D. Loyola University, Chicago, IL, 1983; admitted to the practice of law in Illinois, 1983. Mr. Bugos is currently a solo practitioner for the Law Office of Joseph T. Bugos in Wheaton. Previously, he was a partner with Donahue, Sowa, Bugos & Brown in Lisle (1986-2005) and an Assistant State's Attorney for the DuPage County State's Attorney's Office in Wheaton (1983-1986). Mr. Bugos is an active member of the DuPage County Bar Association and the Illinois State Bar Association.

Anne Therieau Hayes, J.D. Loyola University, Chicago, IL, 1983; admitted to the practice of law in Illinois, 2004. Ms. Therieau Hayes currently is an Assistant State's Attorney for the DuPage County State's Attorney's Office (2005-present). Previously she was an associate with the law firm of Vedder Price in Chicago. Ms. Therieau Hayes is an active member of the DuPage County Bar Association, Robert E. Jones Inns of Court, DuPage Association of Women Lawyers, Illinois State Bar Association and the Illinois Prosecutors Association.
