Julie A. Johnson elected a member of Aronberg Goldgehn

Julie A. JohnsonAronberg Goldgehn Davis & Garmisa has elected Julie A. Johnson (formerly Neubauer) as a Member of the firm, effective January 1, 2017.

Julie dedicates her practice to issues of matrimonial and family law, including divorce, child custody, domestic violence/orders of protection, child support, post-judgment litigation, adoption, parentage and other related matters.

Through both negotiation and litigation, Julie has achieved extraordinary outcomes for her clients. In addition, she has expanded her practice to include family law appeals. Two  significant, published appellate cases of note include-- In re Marriage of Micheli, 2014 IL App (2d) 121245, as counsel for the wife, and In re Marriage of Branit, 2015 IL App (1st) 141297, reh'g denied (Oct. 15, 2015), appeal denied (Jan. 20, 2016), also as counsel for the wife.

Highly active in the Illinois State Bar Association (ISBA), Julie currently serves as Chair of the ISBA Standing Committee on Women and the Law in along with serving on the Diversity Leadership Council and Family Law Section Council.

Julie has also been an active member of the Northern Illinois University College of Law Alumni Council and is a member of the DuPage County Bar Association and the Appellate Lawyers Association.

Julie speaks and writes on a variety of topics relating to divorce, family law and domestic violence. She is a regular contributor to the Illinois State Bar Association Standing Committee on Women & the Law newsletter, The Catalyst, as well as other publications.

Julie has been recognized as an Emerging Lawyer in Family Law by Illinois Leading Lawyers and has been named a Rising Star in Family Law by Illinois Super Lawyers. . As a law student, she received the ISBA’s Presidential Commendation Award in 2006 and was honored by the Illinois Women’s Bar Foundation with its Public Interest Scholarship for 2006-07. Upon graduation from law school, she received the National Association of Women Lawyers Outstanding Woman Law Graduate Award.

Julie earned her J.D. cum laude from Northern Illinois University College of Law in 2007.
