Stay Current on Mandatory E-Filing with Practice HQ

Effective January 1, 2018, e-filing will be mandatory for all civil cases in the Illinois circuit courts. Practice HQ, our new one-stop microsite that houses together high-quality practice information, has a page dedicated to e-filing. This page was designed to help our members understand e-filing basics, stay up-to-date on the latest rule changes, and prepare for what's coming next.

The articles housed on this page, which have been published in the Illinois Bar Journal and the ISBA's Standing Committee on Legal Technology newsletter, provide historical context for the push toward Illinois's e-filing system, which can help members understand the reasons for and benefits of making this change.

Our free online CLE, E-Filing in Illinois, is designed to help attorneys learn the basics of e-filing. How does e-filing work? Is it mandatory in my court? Is training available for using eFileIL? The answers to these questions and many more ensure that no member is caught unprepared when the time comes to make the change.

The Illinois Supreme Court's rule amendments are available in one easy-to-find location, so members have easy access to the latest updates.

To benefit from these and other resources, log in to the ISBA website and visit Practice HQ today.
